While we may be best known for providing top-quality roofing and scaffolding solutions across Dorset and beyond, we’re also heavily involved with Bournemouth Rugby.

Over the last season, we’ve been fortunate enough to invest in the development and future of young players at the club.

Last month, we even got the chance to celebrate at the club’s annual Youth & Mini Awards. The special event held at Key West restaurant was an opportunity to champion the passion, perseverance, and community spirit.

From the youngest Under-6 players just starting their rugby journey to the Colts playing their final matches in youth colours, it was an afternoon that captured what makes this club so special. Over 200 young players were recognised for their dedication, teamwork, and growth throughout the season, with each one receiving a special Up Top goodie bag and a moment in the spotlight.

It was our pleasure to congratulate the players, but also the wonderful coaching staff and volunteers that go the extra mile to ensure the next generation of players can thrive both on and off the pitch.

Youth awards

The day wasn’t just about medals and goodie bags (although over 200 of those were handed out!). It was a chance to reflect on how much the club has grown in numbers, in spirit, and in potential. The youth system at Bournemouth Rugby is thriving, with kids learning not just to pass, tackle, and score, but teamwork, values, and friendship.

The message from the event was clear: whether you’re coaching from the sidelines, cheering from the stands, or contributing as a sponsor, you’re an essential part of the club’s journey.

Grassroots rugby relies on community involvement and that’s where we felt that Up Top Roofing & Scaffolding could give a helping hand. Without the backing of sponsors, events like Youth & Mini Awards simply wouldn’t be possible.

This contribution ensures the proper training equipment, kit and the coaching is fully supported. Most importantly the young players can receive the recognition they deserve.

Guy and Kieran were on hand at the recent End of Season Awards at Bournemouth Pavilion where they proudly presented the Player of the Year – Nomads award to Matt Spencer, a standout player from the 2024–2025 season whose relentless energy and commitment made a massive impact on the team.
